There are a number of organisations that have helplines you can call or even text if you need to talk to someone without being face-to-face. It’s a safe and confidential way to talk through your problems.
Many of these helplines offer 24 hour services if you’ re ever in crisis. If you need to talk to someone outside of your family or friends, or if you need someone to listen at 4am, this can be a really good way to get some support.
Just like online help, talking to someone on the phone or by text might not be the right solution for everyone or every issue, but it’s good to be aware that these services are there if you need them. Two helplines you can try are listed below, but there are many others.
