Cool Kids Studio, encouraging positive life-skills
Cool Kids Studio is a site created, designed and coded by nine year-old Lauren Boyle. It’s an interactive way of teaching life skills to children up to 12 years-of-age.
For all ages
The site is divided into three age categories, three to six, seven to ten, and 11 to 12. But, it could also be a useful resource for parents and educators.
Keeping the blues at bay
As well as useful life-skills, Cool Kids Studio gives tips on:
Cool Kids Studio got runner up in the Coolest Project Awards this year. It’s been live for just two months, but has received over four thousand visits.
Building the site has given Lauren the opportunity to meet Minister Damien English and present on the topic of children and technology.
Learning to mind oneself
The point of the site, Lauren says, is to teach children to look after their mental health. It’s an important skill that should be taught at a young age.
