Lisa’s story: a case study
After seeing a poster for ReachOut.com, Lisa decided to get involved. A 23 year old from Dublin and with a background in psychology, she was impressed by our approach.
Lisa volunteered at a number of events and also worked as an intern in our office. She remains involved through the Youth Advisory Network and says,
“I think it’s revolutionary to have all the information on mental health in one place. Mental health issues don’t just affect those who suffer directly, but also affect many people around them, including parents, family and friends. When I was doing research on suicide I learned that there are at least six people dramatically affected in the aftermath of suicide.
“It’s not just those one in four people who suffer with mental health problems who need help. I think ReachOut, having all that information in one place and being a neutral space is really beneficial and will help a lot of people.”
