Aware is an organisation that provides support for people experiencing depression. This support takes many forms, depending on what you need.

Here are some ways that they can help you if you feel you might need support.

Aware online support

Aware.ie provides information on depression, as well as discussion boards and online support groups. These support groups provide a confidential space to talk with a trained volunteer and others who are having similar experiences.

Aware also offer an email support service, which operates from 9am -5pm, Monday to Friday. If you email in your thoughts, worries or questions, someone will reply the next day.

Aware operate a helpline service that you can call if you need someone to listen. It is non-judgemental and all call are confidential.

The helpline is available on 1890 303 302 seven days a week (Mon-Wed: 10am-10pm; Thurs-Sun 10am-1am). If it’s busy, hang in there, someone will take your call.

Aware face-to-face support

Aware hold support groups in many parts of the country for people to talk to each other about their experiences with depression. To find out where you nearest support group is, just go to their map. If there’s no group near you, don’t forget about the email and phone support services.
