Helping you get through tough times

ReachOut.com at Oxegen 2011

We went to Oxegen this year to “give it welly”. We met loads of people, decorated loads of wellies and talked to some people about ReachOut.com.

ReachOut.com at Oxegen 2011

Hi, I’m Aisling. I’m 25, and i’m at Oxegen 2011!

I think something like ReachOut is really good to have around because it connects with  people in a way they understand, using a medium they are already fairly involved in. I think that’s the way to reach young people now.

It seems to me that everyone my age is using social media at the moment and stuff like that.

I think there’s a lot of pressure on young people, more than me as an adult can even comprehend. I know myself that growing up in my teenage years was quite difficult.

Anything that breaks down any stigma associated with mental health is good.

Online resources like Reach Out, or others like that, are really useful to encourage people to try take that first step, to try to get help.

It’s a website. Lots of people are afraid to talk about it, but now they can do it in the privacy of their own homes. You can get help, definitely, through the website. It’s really handy to have there.

What can I do now?
