It’s back! We want you to think about ways to get through tough times and illustrate them with film or animation.
Everyone goes through tough times at some stage in their life. The way we get through these times can inspire others when they’re faced with something similar.
What we’re looking for
Inspire a Generation is a national film competition to promote positive attitudes to mental health and challenge current stereotypes around the issue.
We’re looking for you to make a film or animation that is under two minutes long demonstrating ways to get through a tough time that’s covered on ReachOut.com.
Who can enter?
Individuals aged 18 – 30 who are resident in Ireland.
This competition is best suited to film or animation graduates with experience in developing short multi-media pieces for online use.
Prizes
Overall winner: €2,000 and an internship with leading Irish ad agency Cawley-Nea
Runner-up: €1,000
Second runner-up: €500

Rules and regulations
You must be aged 18 – 30 -years-old and resident in the Republic of Ireland to enter this competition. Your competition entry must be made specifically for ReachOut.com 2013. You must obtain all the necessary permissions and rights including copyright of all people involved. Any entries that are deemed offensive will be disqualified. It is expressly forbidden to display any form of product branding. Projects containing visible product branding will be disqualified.
Film guidelines
You can use whatever equipment is available to you to record, HD, SD or regular Camcorder. Your film must be between 90 and 120 seconds in length, including titles and credits, should you wish to include them. Film with dialogue or text must be in English or have English subtitles.
Judging
Entries will be judged on its originality, artistic and technical ability and message interpretation. Entries will be viewed by a pre-selection committee appointed by ReachOut.com. If your entry is shortlisted it will be then viewed by an expert judging panel who will select the overall winners from the shortlist. The judges’ decisions are final and no correspondence will be entered into.
Terms and conditions
1) Filmmakers whose works are selected for Inspire A Generation competition grant the ReachOut.com the rights to use all of part of the film, stills and/or titles, and information from the film for any purpose, including editing or amending the films. Filmakers will be notified of such amendments.
2) By participating in the competition, entrants grant permission to ReachOut.com to use their names, likenesses, photographs, voices, sounds and/or biographical information and films in connection with the competition for any and all advertising, publicity and promotional purposes relating to the competition without additional compensation, unless prohibited by law.
3) As a condition of entering the competition, each entrant will be required to sign a Release Agreement Form granting ReachOut.com: i) the right to display their film, in whole or in part, on the ReachOut.com and/or on any websites owned or operated by or on behalf of ReachOut.com. ii) the rights to use all of part of the film, stills and/or titles, and information from the film for any purpose, including editing or amending the films.
