Lady Gaga reaches out to suicidal fan

Abstract coloursLady Gaga has reached out and helped one of her little monsters in Ireland who was thinking of taking their own life.

The fan, allegedly from Co.Offaly, posted on Gaga’s community site suggesting they would soon take her own life.

More power than you think

On seeing the post, Gaga replied, saying “”We all love you. Nothing is worth taking your life. Just remember how sad I would be, how sad we would all be. We are connected through the music and that is powerful. Listen to music and get creative with your life. You can be and become anything. You have more power than u think.”

If you’re feeling suicidal

If you are having thoughts about taking your own life, try to remember that thoughts are just that – only thoughts. You do not need to act on these thoughts.

Reach out to someone

Tell someone how you’re feeling. It’s great that Gaga was able to respond on this occasion, but she or other celebrities might not always be in a position to reply. So if you can then talk to someone you trust.

If you don’t want to talk to someone you know you can call the Samaritans on 1850 609090 or email them at jo@smaritans.org.

Not right now

If talking to someone feels too hard to do right now, try something else for the moment – like journaling. Writing down your feelings can be a great way to help figure out what’s going on. It can help you think about alternative solutions to your problems too.
