When things don’t go according to plan
When things don’t go according to plan in life, it can really knock you down. Not getting picked for the team, not getting the exam results or the job you wanted, not getting together with the person you like. We’ve all been there, and know the feeling of ‘but it’s so unfair!’ It can be tough to shake off. It can make you angry and frustrated, especially when it’s something you can’t fix.
Learning to brush yourself down and get back up after a disappointment is one of the best skills you can develop in life. If you’re able to do that, to find your own way to be resilient and take a blow every now and then, you’ll be amazed by the stress and irritation you can avoid. New paths can open themselves up to you when you come off track.
Here’s a story from Eoin, our ReachOut.com Youth Ambassador, who’s been figuring it out.
